Stoned Children = Funny

Okaaay, here we go again...first of all: Lykke Li was an excellent, high energy party filled with dance parties and shots of jager and sing alongs, covers of Kings of Leon and Tribe Called Quest, oh...and legions of beautiful girls. I'm pretty sure every hip, well dressed, pretty girl in Toronto was at the Phoenix Concert Theatre last Friday. In conclusion, everyone involved did a fantastic job.

Next, the movie of the last week was the film adaptation of everyones' favorite fake newpaper, The Onion.

The is a must see for pot heads and media skeptics alike. I, being both, feel like I got the best of both worlds. I pretty much laughed through the whole thing, with the exception of a couple of scenes that are pretty much just plain wrong. Honorable mention goes to "Armed Gunman", and look forward to multiple "celebrity" cameos including Sir Steven Seagal.

Moving right along, this Thursday, February 12th marks the return of Detroit's own Von Bondies to Call the Office supporting the new album "Love, Hate, and Then There's You." It's like 8 bucks, and Young Rival from Toronto are opening, and they are always awesome. So there, you're in.

One of the highlights of the Lykke Li show for a drunk like myself was at the end when the dj graced us with Animal Collective's new single "My Girls", which is, duh, very excellent. Did anybody else know that their new album Merriweather Post Pavillion is really hard to find in stores because the warehouses keep selling out? That must mean it's great. Well, it is. Their coming to the Sound Academy in Toronto on May 16th. And it's gonna sell out, so you should watch the video for My Girls and enjoy it and then come to the show with us.

And in closing, if you haven't seen this, you probably should. It begs the question from all of us, is it funny seeing children high on drugs? You be the judge. But yes, it's funny.

Dude! You see the metal remix of that kid on drugs!? Quality! Kids on drugs becaus ethe dentist needed to administer them, totally OK! Is it funny? Hell yes! Dad recording it? Bit weird. On the plus side, atleast he put on his seatbelt which is a lot more than can be said to older kids on drugs driving and diving out the vehicle window to their death.
