Answering Questions With Questions.
Okay so I'm back. Apparently my blog abilities escape me when I'm done school...but I will continue to try my best. It's summertime (in all the ways that matter), and that means: too much beer and saving zero money. Here's a quick rundown of things coming up and things we may have missed.
On Wednesday, May 13th, Team Concert made it's way too see Ben Harper and The Relentless 7 at Phoenix Concert Theatre. It was dope. That's all. Their new (and first) album together is aptly titled "White Lies for Dark Times", also very great. It's quality from front to back but includes a nice little track appropriately and geniusly titled "Lay There and Hate Me." I very much look forward to seeing Mr. Harper at Lollapalooza and you probably should too.
Guess what else? Glasgow's Camera Obscura has a new album called "My Maudlin Career", and it's pretty much summer music defined. They're coming to Toronto on June 23rd at Lee's Palace, and we should all probably go. How about this, if you go, I'll go...deal.
Miike Snow is a newish band. I don't know a lot about them except they make extremely fun music and haven't released an album yet. They are coming to Toronto soon, although details aren't clear, they will be at Lollapalooza for sure, and they are getting remixed by Treasure Fingers, Crookers, DJ Mehdi, and Benny Blanco...sooooo, check em out now.
If you haven't seen this yet, it's time. See it today. Well acted, directed, cast, scored, all the good stuff. If you can't find it, I'll lend it. Trust me, it's a must see.
I'll leave you with this:
The Girls Can Hear Us just posted some new jams. Check them out please.
I have a newish mix for download, if you don't have it, you should get it.
Mindbender, Fritz The Cat and D Ray (of Rhythmicru) made this nice song and video for you to enjoy. It's a feelgood summertime jam, and there can never be too many of those.
Now it's time to go outside. Stay beautiful.
